Synopsis
The life of Prophet Yusuf (peace be upon him), detailed in Surah 12 of the Qur’an is a story of love, hate, slavery, integrity, courage, patience and forgiveness. The account of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) and his family is also found in Genesis of the Hebrew Bible, and whilst the overall plot in the Qur’an mirrors the Bible, there are significant differences which further sheds light on the miraculous nature of the Qur’an.
In this comparative approach we will learn the universal message from the events of Prophet Yusuf’s life. Described as ‘the best of stories’ in the Qur’an, his life reads like an epic novel, filled with intrigue, tension, and hope. The lessons from Prophet Yusuf’s life is just as relevant today leading us to a deeper trust in God in the face of adversity.
